Week 12: Friday injury report

Week 12: Friday injury report

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Second-year running back Charcandrick West’s status against the Buffalo Bills is officially 50-50.

The Chiefs list West (hamstring) as questionable on Friday’s injury report after West missed a third straight practice.

Still, coach Andy Reid indicated a level of confidence he could potentially use West, who suffered the injury against the San Diego Chargers in Week 11.

“I think he could be OK as long as he’s healthy,” Reid told reporters, “but mentally, he’ll be fine.”

Kansas City has running backs Spencer Ware and Knile Davis as potential fills in the event West can’t play Sunday.

Defensive end Allen Bailey (calf), linebacker Dee Ford (back) and wide receiver De’Anthony Thomas (concussion) are ruled out for Sunday’s contest after the trio didn’t practice the entire week. Guard Ben Grubbs (neck) was previously ruled out on Wednesday.

The Chiefs have options to handle returner duty with Thomas out. Davis or rookie wide receiver Chris Conley (hand, probable) can handle kick returns, while wide receivers Albert Wilson or Jeremy Maclin could see action as a punt returner.

Tight end Travis Kelce, who was dealing with a groin injury, tweaked his ankle during Friday’s practice, but Reid didn’t appear overly concerned.

“We think he’s going to be OK as we go,” Reid told reporters.

Kelce is officially designated as questionable after putting in a limited practice Friday.

Linebacker Tamba Hali (knee) did not practice the past two days, but is listed as probable. This follows the pattern of the past months as the Chiefs have taken it easy on Hali, who practiced fully Wednesday.

The Chiefs list defensive end Mike DeVito (shoulder), cornerback Jamell Fleming (hamstring), rookie tight end Brian Parker (ankle, back) and rookie linebacker Ramik Wilson (ankle) as probable.

Wilson, who suffered a high-ankle sprain in Week 6, is on track to return after missing four straight games.

The Bills list four players as out, including defensive tackle Kyle Williams (knee) and defensive end Mario Williams (foot). Quarterback Tyrod Taylor (shoulder) is listed as probable.
