KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Chiefs picked the perfect time to get healthy with a playoff contest against the Houston Texans less than two days away.
Only two players are listed as not practicing Thursday: Rookie center Mitch Morse (concussion) and outside linebacker Tamba Hali (thumb, knee).
But only Morse is in danger of not playing after missing a second straight day of practice while recovering from a concussion sustained in the season finale.
The Chiefs will likely turn to second-year pro Zach Fulton, who said he is ready if called upon to start.
Meanwhile, the Chiefs will continue to hold out Hali from working indoors when considering he dealt with knee swelling during the regular season.
“We were on the turf,” coach Andy Reid told reporters Thursday on why Hali didn’t practice.
Hali, a 10th-year pro, doesn’t necessarily need practice repetitions to see action. He didn’t practice the entire week leading to the season finale, but was active and saw action.
As for the other nine players on the Chiefs’ injury report, all, including outside linebacker Justin Houston (knee), put in a full practice.
Thursday marked the second straight day Houston was a full-go and he should return to the lineup barring a setback.
Outside linebacker Dee Ford (concussion) and safety Husain Abdullah (concussion, not football related) returned to a full practice after not being on the field Wednesday.
Wide receiver Jeremy Maclin (hip) and right tackle Jah Reid (knee) practiced fully after being limited the previous day.
The Texans had movement on the injury report from Wednesday.
Linebacker Jadeveon Clowney (foot) and wide receiver Nate Washington (hip) put in a limited practice after not practicing Wednesday.
