Chiefs’ Phillip Gaines leaves practice with knee injury

Chiefs’ Phillip Gaines leaves practice with knee injury

Herbie Teope August 4, 2015

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – The Chiefs’ list of injured players at training camp grew by three on Tuesday.

Cornerback Phillip Gaines (knee), WR Armon Binns (ankle), WR Jeret Smith (hamstring) all left practice with their respective injuries and did not return to the field.

Gaines briefly left Monday’s practice after tweaking his knee, but was able to return and finish.

Quarterback Tyler Bray (knee), linebacker James-Michal Johnson (calf), wide receiver Chris Conley (knee), tight end Demetrius Harris (foot) and defensive end David Irving (back) continue to not practice.

The group worked with trainers off to the side during the morning practice.

Bray, in particular, no longer wears the knee brace on his left knee.

Defensive tackle Dontari Poe (back) and wide receiver Junior Hemingway (hip) were not present on the practice field.
