KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Kansas City Chiefs on Tuesday announced two roster moves, promoting guard Rishaw Johnson from the practice squad and waiving linebacker Josh Martin.
Johnson originally signed on the practice squad on Sept. 3 after being released by the Seattle Seahawks on Aug. 31.
He joined the league with Seattle in 2012 as an undrafted free agent out of California University of Pennsylvania where he was a teammate of Chiefs backup center Eric Kush.
With starting left guard Jeff Allen battling a groin injury suffered in Week Three’s win against the Philadelphia Eagles, Johnson’s presence on the Chiefs’ 53-man roster bolsters depth on the offensive line.
Martin, who joined the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent in May 2013, was inactive for the team’s first three games.
