Chiefs tweak practice squad

Chiefs tweak practice squad

Herbie Teope October 2, 2013

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Chiefs on Wednesday announced the signing of offensive guard Chandler Burden to practice squad.

To make room for Burden, the Chiefs terminated linebacker Darin Drakeford’s contract.

Burden entered the league in 2012 with the Tennessee Titans as an undrafted free agent out of Kentucky. He recently spent time with the Miami Dolphins before being released on Aug. 23, 2013.

He signing adds depth to a Chiefs offensive line dealing with injuries to starting guard Jeff Allen (groin) and starting right tackle Eric Fisher (concussion).

Drakeford spent the first four weeks of the regular season on the Chiefs practice squad.
