ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – The Chiefs on Wednesday added two players, one for each side of the ball.

Offensive tackle Ryan Harris signed a free-agent deal with the Chiefs, Harris’ agent, Eugene Parker, confirmed with ChiefsSpin.com. Terms were not disclosed.

Harris, 29, first announced the signing on Twitter.

“Beyond Happy to be a chief,” he said. “Great also to be teammates with THE @HAdullah39 (Husain Abdullah) haha! #Chiefs”

Harris, who measures 6-5, 299 pounds, entered the league in 2007 out of Notre Dame as a third-round pick of the Denver Broncos.

Harris has ties with Chiefs coach Andy Reid after signing a one-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2011 before undergoing back surgery, which led to the team waiving him with an injury designation.

He spent the past two seasons with the Houston Texans.

The Chiefs also signed inside linebacker Josh Mauga, according to his agent Michael Hoffman on Twitter:

Congrats to LB Josh Mauga who is signing with #Chiefs today. Underrated signing. #NFL

Mauga, 27, measures 6-1, 250 pounds. He entered the league in 2009 as an undrafted free agent out of Nevada with the New York Jets where he played through the 2013 season.

For his career, Mauga appeared in 29 games with one start. He missed the 2013 season after landing on injured reserve.

The Chiefs haven’t confirmed the signings, but entered Wednesday already with 90 players, the maximum allowed on the offseason roster.

The team will need to move two players to accommodate Harris and Mauga to stay within the league rules.

UPDATE, July 24: The Chiefs officially announced the transactions Thursday morning. To make room for Harris and Mauga, the Chiefs waived linebacker DeRon Furr and designated fullback James Baker as reserve/did not report. Furr missed Tuesday’s practice with a back injury and was not present on the field Wednesday. Baker missed all three morning practices.
