Week 14 playoff scenarios

Herbie Teope December 3, 2013

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Despite a three-game losing streak, the Chiefs (9-3) remain in position to clinch a playoff berth in Week 14.

Of course, the Chiefs have to get back on the winning track Sunday against the Washington Redskins (3-9), and then need outside help.

Here’s how the Chiefs can clinch, according to the Week 14 playoff scenarios released by the NFL:

• KC win + a Miami Dolphins loss or tie against the Pittsburgh Steelers OR

• KC win + a Baltimore Ravens loss or tie against the Minnesota Vikings OR

• KC tie + Dolphins loss OR

• KC tie + Raven loss

Meanwhile, the Chiefs are relying on some familiar faces when it comes to outside help.

Former Chiefs coach Todd Haley is the current Steelers offensive coordinator.

Former Chiefs quarterback Matt Cassel, now with the Vikings, could start Week 14 given starter Christian Ponder is dealing with a concussion.
