Former Chiefs general manager John Dorsey took a chance on signing Kareem Hunt, and it doesn't surprise Brett Veach, his successor in Kansas City.
"John always does his homework," Veach said at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis. "John certainly knew a lot about Kareem and did his homework on his own, so I'm confident Cleveland did what they felt was necessary."
Veach said the Chiefs didn't consider a reunion with the troubled running back, but continue to wish Hunt the best and hope he gets the help he needs on the road recovery.
"Our focus is with him and hoping he gets better," Veach said. "But we made the decision and we were kind of already turning the page and ready to move on."
