Dee Ford hurts back, inactive against Chargers

Dee Ford hurts back, inactive against Chargers

Herbie Teope November 22, 2015

Chiefs second-year outside linebacker Dee Ford suffered a back injury during pregame warmups and is inactive for Sunday afternoon’s game against the San Diego Chargers.

With Ford not playing, outside linebackers Dezman Moses and Frank Zombo can fill in as needed as relief for Tamba Hali or Justin Houston.

Running back Knile Davis is a healthy scratch for a second straight game, meaning the Chiefs will go with Charcandrick West and Spencer Ware in the backfield.

Wide receiver De’Anthony Thomas will likely handle returner duties with Davis out.

The remaining inactives are quarterback Aaron Murray, rookie linebacker Ramik Wilson (ankle), left guard Ben Grubbs (neck), defensive lineman David King and defensive end Allen Bailey (calf).

Jeff Allen will start at left guard in place of Grubbs and Jah Reid will start at right tackle for a third straight game.
