KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Chiefs wide receiver Donnie Avery is a healthy inactive for Sunday’s game against the San Diego Chargers.

Avery, who underwent a sports hernia procedure in early October, has not played in three straight games. Rookie Albert Wilson will make his fourth straight start at split end in place of Avery.

The Chiefs also list cornerback Marcus Cooper as inactive, marking the second straight game he won’t play.

Kansas City lists rookie cornerback Phillip Gaines as inactive with an illness. With Cooper and Gaines down, the Chiefs are down to three cornerbacks: Sean Smith, Jamell Fleming and Chris Owens.

Safety Ron Parker can play cornerback if needed.

The remaining Chiefs’ inactives: Quarterback Alex Smith (spleen), center Eric Kush, offensive lineman Laurent Duvernay-Tardif and defensive lineman Nick Williams.

San Diego’s inactives are running back Ryan Mathews, wide receiver Keenan Allen, center Chris Watt, cornerback Greg Ducre, defensive end Damion Square, defensive tackle Ryan Carrethers and outside linebacker Cordarro Law.
