KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Chiefs have added another pass catcher to their wide receiving corps, agreeing to terms with Central Oklahoma wide receiver Josh Crockett, a league source tells ChiefsDigest.com.
Crockett, a 6-foot-3, 192-pound, posted a 4.60 40-yard dash time. He caught 50 passes for 758 yards and eight touchdowns as a senior for the Broncos. He also returned kicks, averaging 20.9 yards on 14 returns. Crockett also rushed four times for 69 yards, including a 45-yard touchdown run against Missouri Southern last October.
The Bristow, Okla., native was one of five players trying out with the club during the recent minicamp. Crockett drew attention during the two-camp with big catches, including a leaping grab in traffic from quarterback Chad Henne on Wednesday.
The Chiefs expect to make a corresponding move freeing space on the 90-man roster later on Thursday.
