Chiefs sign S Daniel Sorensen to practice squad

Chiefs sign S Daniel Sorensen to practice squad

Herbie Teope September 11, 2014

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Chiefs on Thursday brought back rookie strong safety Daniel Sorensen to the practice squad two days after waiving him from the 53-man roster.

Sorensen, who originally joined the Chiefs in May as an undrafted free agent out of Brigham Young University, started the preseason in place of Eric Berry, who dealt with a right heel injury.

The 6-2, 208-pound Sorensen recorded eight tackles (six solo) in preseason action.

He played 18 defensive snaps in the regular-season opener against the Tennessee Titans and recorded one special teams tackle.

The Chiefs waived defensive lineman Kona Schwenke from the practice squad to accommodate the Sorensen signing.
