KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A revamped offensive lineup takes the field for the Chiefs against the Jacksonville Jaguars, with quarterback Nick Foles and running back Charcandrick West starting in place of Alex Smith and Spencer Ware, both of whom took hard hits last week against Indianapolis.
The Chiefs also also rollout Zach Fulton at left guard replacing Parker Ehinger, whom the Chiefs placed on injured reserve Saturday.
Wide receiver Jeremy Maclin (groin) and defensive lineman Jaye Howard (hip flexor) plan to play. Both appeared questionable on Friday’s injury report. But it remains unclear how active both players may be.
The free agent addition of Knile Davis may have pushed recently acquired running back Bishop Sankey off the active list. The Chiefs plan to go with just two active running backs, West and Davis. Davis certainly possesses and advantage over Sankey in terms know understanding the team’s playbook and protection schemes.
Defensive lineman David King, promoted from the practice squad Saturday, provides additional depth for insurance against Howard’s hip injury. That gives the Chiefs six active defensive lineman.
Full Chiefs inactive list: QB Alex Smith, RB Spencer Ware, CB D.J. White, RB Bishop Sankey, TE Ross Travis, CB Terrance Mitchell and OL Mike Person .
Full Jaguars inactive list: DE Jared Odrick, QB Brandon Allen, WR Rashad Greene Sr., RB Corey Grant, OL Bryce Harris, TE Neal Sterling and DT Richard Ash.
