Herbie Teope April 6, 2015

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Chiefs outside linebacker Josh Martin signed his exclusive rights free-agent tender, according to Monday’s NFL Transactions report.

The Chiefs extended the tender to Martin on March 7.

Martin, a native of Aurora, Colo., originally signed with the Chiefs in 2013 as an undrafted free agent out of Columbia.

The 6-3, 245-pound Martin has appeared in 19 games with one start in the past two seasons, totaling 14 tackles (10 solo) and a ½ sack during that span.

Martin primarily contributes on special teams, and his 321 special teams snaps in 2014 ranked second on the team behind linebacker Frank Zombo’s 367.

The 23-year-old Martin has totaled 13 tackles and a forced fumble on special teams the past two seasons.
