This marks the second time around for Broussard, who originally signed with the Chiefs on May 13, 2013 as an undrafted free agent out of Hinds Community College before being waived on May 28.

Given another opportunity with the Chiefs, Broussard’s agent, Markeeth Taylor, said his client looks forward to it.

“We’re excited for the second chance,” Taylor said in a phone interview. “Hopefully it will be able to help the team and they’ll in return be able to give him a long NFL career.”

Taylor said his client has stayed in shape since last year’s release by working out at the Velocity Sports Performance training facility in Mississippi with hopes just for this occasion.

“When you want it, you got to put the time in and stay ready for the call,” Taylor said.

Broussard, who is listed at 6-foot-2, 278 pounds, made the most of his eight games in just one season at Hinds Community College. He notched 61 tackles (43 solo), six sacks, an interception and two forced fumbles.

A reserve/future contract is signed with a free agent player who was not on a team’s active roster when the season ended. They are also signed with a view to the upcoming season once the league’s calendar year kicks off on March 11.
