OL Burden returns to practice squad

OL Burden returns to practice squad

Herbie Teope November 21, 2013

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Chiefs tweaked the practice squad Wednesday, announcing the signing of offensive lineman Chandler Burden and release of fullback Toben Opurum.

Burden rejoins the team after being released on Nov. 12. The 6-foot-4, 310-pound lineman previously spent six weeks on the Chiefs practice squad.

And with starting right tackle Eric Fisher battling a shoulder injury and starting right guard Jon Asamoah also dealing with a shoulder injury, Burden provides depth to the offensive line.

Opurum joined the Chiefs in May 2013 as an undrafted free agent out of the University of Kansas. The Chiefs previously released him from the practice squad early in Week 4 before re-signing him three days later.
