Chiefs reportedly part ways with Moeaki

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Chiefs tight end Tony Moeaki’s four-year stint with the team is apparently over.

Moeaki’s agent, Jack Bechta, tweeted his client and the Chiefs have reached an injury settlement, which clears the path for the Chiefs to waive Moeaki from injured reserve.

Moeaki, who has been out recovering with a shoulder injury, is eligible to be a free agent once he clears waivers, according to the National Football Post.

The talented tight end out of Iowa has been hampered by injuries since being selected in the third round by the Chiefs in 2010.

He totaled 47 catches for 556 yards and three touchdowns during his rookie campaign, but suffered a torn ACL in 2011.

Moeaki came back in 2012 to record 33 catches for 453 yards and a touchdown before landing on injured reserve prior to the start of the 2013 regular season after suffering the shoulder injury during the preseason.
