KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Chiefs safety Kendrick Lewis missed a second straight day of practice nursing a sprained ankle.

Lewis has been battling the ankle injury in recent weeks, but played through it in Week Six.

Joining Lewis as not practicing is backup defensive tackle Jaye Howard, who is listed as not injury-related. Howard is a new addition after not being listed on Wednesday’s report.

Putting in a limited practice for a second straight day are tight end Anthony Fasano (ankle, knee) and cornerback Brandon Flowers (knee).

Fasano, who hasn’t played since Week Two, said Wednesday he was “pretty confident” he would return to action this week barring setback.

Listed as full participants in Thursday’s practice are left tackle Branden Albert (knee, elbow), guard Jeff Allen (groin, hand), guard Jon Asamoah (knee), wide receiver Donnie Avery (shoulder), tight end Kevin Brock (shoulder), punter Dustin Colquitt (right knee), linebacker Dezman Moses (toe), defensive tackle Dontari Poe (ankle) and fullback Anthony Sherman (knee).

The Houston Texans continue to list 17 players and on Thursday named Case Keenum the starting quarterback in place of Matt Schaub (ankle, foot).

Of note on Thursday’s report, Texans running back Arian Foster (thumb, chest, hamstring) did not practice after putting in a full practice during Wednesday’s practice.
