KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Chiefs wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster cleared the final hurdle in returning from a concussion and will be ready to go Sunday afternoon when the club hosts the Los Angels Rams, according to head coach Andy Reid.
JuJu did a good job, he looked good,” Reid said after Friday’s practice. “He’ll be available.”
The Chiefs will be without fellow receiver Kadarius Toney, who will rest the hamstring injury he re-aggravated last week vs. the Los Angeles Chargers.
He had had it in New York, and he just felt it kind of coming back, so we just said, ‘Listen, let’s not go any further with it and make it worse here,’ so we backed off on it,” Reid said.
Toney did not practice Friday, nor did safety Juan Thornhill (calf) and cornerback Chris Lammons (concussion). Both players are listed as questionable for Sunday’s game.
Left guard Joe Thuney returned to practice on Friday in a limited role after he sat out Wednesday and Thursday resting his sore ankle. He’s listed as questionable but the Chiefs are optimistic he will play against the Rams.
“Thuney practiced and did a nice job,” Reid said. “He’s working back in there.”
Defensive end Chris Jones did not practice Friday due to personal reasons.
