Chiefs Kicking Off Training Camp July 28 at Missouri Western

Chiefs Kicking Off Training Camp July 28 at Missouri Western

Matt Derrick June 23, 2021

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — After a one-year absence due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Chiefs will open their 2021 training camp to fans on July 28 at the campus of Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, Missouri.

Camp will operate differently than in past years due to the NFL’s protocols for COVID-19 and under the team’s of the new collective bargaining agreement between the league and the NFL Players Association.

While most practices will remain free to the public, tickets will be required for attendance. The club will open up ticket reservations and pricing on July 7. Tickets will be limited but the club hasn’t revealed how many tickets will be available each day. All tickets are mobile entry only.

Another big change — no autographs will be allowed.

The Chiefs brought their training camp to Missouri Western for the first time in 2010. Last season the NFL curtailed training camp with all teams practicing at their own facilities due to the pandemic. The university and the Chiefs agreed to a three-year extension for training camp in February 2020. That deal will now keep the Chiefs in St. Joseph through the 2023 season with two option years through 2025.

Missouri Western will charge $5 for parking per vehicle per day. If weather or field conditions force the team to work out indoors, practice will be closed to the general public. The club will announce practice status updates on its social media platforms.
