These players officially became free agents at 3 p.m. central time Wednesday and can sign with club.

  • G Jeff Allen
  • DE Allen Bailey
  • WR Kelvin Benjamin
  • WR Chris Conley
  • OL Jordan Devey
  • TE Demetrius Harris: Agreed to a two-year contract with the Cleveland Browns
  • CB Steven Nelson: Agreed to three-year, $25.5 million contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers
  • CB Orlando Scandrick
  • FB Anthony Sherman
  • WR De'Anthony Thomas
  • RB Spencer Ware
  • RB Charcandrick West
  • LB Frank Zombo

These players have at least three accrued seasons and can sign an offer sheet with any team, but if the Chiefs make a tender offer tied to draft pick compensation they can match any offer sheet.

  • LB Terrance Smith: Did not receive contract tender, becomes free agent able to sign with any team with no compensation to Chiefs

These player have fewer than three accrued seasons and the Chiefs have exclusive negotiating rights if tendered a one-year contract offer.

  • TE Alex Ellis: Did not receive contract tender, becomes free agent able to sign with any team with no compensation to Chiefs
