ST. JOSEPH, Mo. — Defensive end Frank Clark, the biggest offseason acquisition for the Chiefs' defense, sat on practice Monday with a sore wrist, but head coach Andy Reid said there's no cause for worry.

“We just held him back, he's going to be fine,” Reid said.

Clark went through stretching and warmups with the team, but later returned to the locker room before team drills began. He also joined two other likely defensive starters on the sideline on Monday.

Defensive end Alex Okafor and linebacker Damien Wilson also didn't practice on Monday. Reid said Okafor has been dealing with hip flexor issue that's been bothering him, while Wilson continues nursing a sore knee.

Another defensive end, Emmanuel Ogbah, also skipped team drills with an oblique strain, but was on the field for warmups.

The Chiefs also worked without two offensive starters. Wide receiver Tyreek Hill sat out for a second-straight day with a quad contusion and running back Damien Williams remains sidelined with a hamstring issue.

Also not practicing Monday were Wide receiver Gehrig Dieter (back spasms) and safety Jordan Lucas (hamstring). The Chiefs take a day off on Tuesday before retuning to practice on Wednesday and Thursday ahead of Saturday's preseason opener against Cincinnati.
