The Chiefs don't face the Chargers until Week 11, which is plenty of time for the club and RB Melvin Gordon on settle their contract differences. But the Chargers open the season against Indianapolis in Week 1 and Houston in Week 3, both games in which they can use their all-purpose back. Getting Gordon back in the fold seems more imperative with the Chargers already bitten by the injury bug, and being without too many starters early in the season might put them underwater early.
