Justin Houston active for Chiefs against Miami

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Linebacker Justin Houston recovered enough from his illness this week to suit up for the Chiefs against the Miami Dolphins, giving Kansas City an active group with no surprises as they strive to clinch the AFC West divisional title.

The team entered the game with only Houston carrying a questionable status due to an illness. He plans to play, along with tight end Travis Kelce and left tackle Eric Fisher, who both missed practice time with an illness this week.

The team’s inactive list appeared the same as last week, including defensive backs Phillip Gaines and Leon McQuay among the inactives.

Miami, meanwhile, entered the game with a myriad of game-time decisions due to injuries. Running back Damien Williams will not pay with a shoulder injury. That leaves the bulk of the backfield duties to Kenyan Drake.

Starting cornerback Cordrea Tankersley is also among the inactives with an ankle injury. Backup quarterback Matt Moore also is inactive with a foot injury. David Fales will backup starter Jay Cutler.

Starting wide receiver DeVante Parker plans to play despite an ankle injury. So does defensive end Andre Branch, who missed practice time with a knee injury this week.

Former Missouri Tigers defensive end Charles Harris (hip) is also among the team’s actives. Former Chiefs active for the Dolphins include tight end Anthony Fasano and former Nebraska offensive lineman Zach Sterup. He spent training camp with the Chiefs last season.

CHIEFS INACTIVES

DOLPHINS INACTIVES
