Albert Wilson returns to Chiefs lineup vs. Buffalo

Albert Wilson returns to Chiefs lineup vs. Buffalo

Matt Derrick November 26, 2017

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Wide receiver Albert Wilson returns to Kansas City’s lineup versus the Buffalo Bills Sunday afternoon, and the Chiefs hope he can inject a spark into the team’s struggling offense.

Wilson was not on the field during the team’s early warmups with quarterbacks and receivers, so it remains unclear how much he may play.

Coincidence or not, the Chiefs offense looks different with Wilson on the field. The Chiefs are 6-1 when Wilson plays these season, averaging 31.9 points per game. The team lost all three games Wilson missed, averaging just 13 points per game.

The Chiefs are also without linebackers Dee Ford, Terrance Smith and Ukeme Eligwe. Ford continues battling a back injury that limited him to just six games on the season. Smith remains in the league’s concussion protocol after sustaining a head injury during last week’s game against the New York Giants.

Eligwe reported a sore Achilles tendon to the team’s training staff Sunday morning. Ramik Wilson appears among the team’s active inside linebackers along with Derrick Johnson, Reggie Ragland and Kevin Pierre-Louis.

That leaves the Chiefs linebacker corps relatively thin. Linebacker Tamba Hali also saw limited practice during the week with a swollen knee. Hali is active after sitting out last week’s game against the Giants.

The Bills are without several key offensive starters, including left tackle Cordy Glenn and wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin.

CHIEFS INACTIVES:

LB Dee Ford, LB Terrance Smith, LB Ukeme Eligwe, CB Darrelle Revis, QB Tyler Bray, LG Parker Ehinger and OL Jordan Devey

BILLS INACTIVES:

WR Kelvin Benjamin, LT Cordy Glenn, OG John Miller, RB Mike Tolbert, CB Shareece Wright, OT Connor McDermott and TE Logan Thomas.
