Chiefs add OL Isaiah Williams to practice squad

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Chiefs prepared to add another member to their practice squad Monday with offensive lineman Isaiah Williams, a source told ChiefsDigest.com.

Williams, a 6-foot, 3-inch lineman from Akron, signed with Washington as an undrafted free agent in 2016. He played in the preseason with the team and spent all of last year on the team’s practice squad. Washington released Williams Saturday during their final cutdown to 53 players.

The 23-year-old Williams appeared in 45 games at Akron, starting as a junior and senior primarily at left tackle. The Zips averaged 165 yards per game rushing his senior season.

He started his collegiate career on the defensive line before switching to the offensive side. He played in 11 games as a freshman with 13 tackles.

Williams joins a practice squad that also includes offensive linemen Joseph Cheek and Damien Mama.
