KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Chiefs hosted former Vanderbilt guard Jake Bernstein on a predraft visit the past week, a source familiar with the appointment informed The Topeka Capital-Journal and ChiefsDigest.com.

The source spoke on the condition of anonymity because the Chiefs don’t announce predraft visits.

The 6-4, 310-pound Bernstein previously had a private workout with the Tennessee Titans and is scheduled to have a private workout with the Chicago Bears before the NFL Draft, according to the source

Bernstein, a native of Lake in the Hills, Ill., started 35 games at left guard in his college career, but offers versatility to play right guard and center.

He led the Vanderbilt offensive line with 63 pancake blocks in 2015 and finished his career as a Commodore appearing in 48 games with 41 starts.

Bernstein joins Washington State defensive lineman Destiny Vaeao, UTEP defensive lineman Roy Roberton and Oregon State defensive lineman Kyle Peko as a group of players independently confirmed by The Topeka Capital-Journal and ChiefsDigest.com as having met with the Chiefs on a predraft visit.

The Chiefs are allowed to host a maximum of 30 prospect visits before the NFL Draft. The visits could include interviews, physicals and written examinations. Teams are not allowed to put a visiting prospect through a workout.
