Chiefs G Ben Grubbs ruled out; QB Tyler Bray practices

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Chiefs left guard Ben Grubbs will miss a fourth straight game after being ruled out Wednesday for Sunday’s matchup against the Buffalo Bills.

Grubbs hasn’t played since suffering a neck injury in Week 7 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Chiefs now list Jeff Allen as the starter at left guard on the latest depth chart.

Meanwhile, quarterback Tyler Bray, who began the regular season on the non-football injury (NFI) list after undergoing offseason ACL surgery, was on the practice field Wednesday for the first time this season.

Bray’s presence on the practice field starts the clock and the Chiefs now have three weeks to either activate Bray or return him to the NFI list.

Bray, who joined the Chiefs in 2013 as an undrafted free agent out of Tennessee, originally suffered the knee injury in early January and did not participate in training camp. The Chiefs signed Bray to a two-year, 1.925 million contract extension on Sept. 3.

He has stayed in the Kansas City area and was often observed in the locker room throughout the season.
