Chiefs bring back LB Tyrell Adams to practice squad, release LB Josh Keyes

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Rookie linebacker Tyrell Adams returned to the Chiefs practice squad, according to Tuesday’s NFL Transactions report.

The 6-2, 228-pound Adams originally signed with the team’s practice squad on Sept. 14, and then was waived on Oct. 13.

Adams entered the league as an undrafted free agent out of West Georgia, signing with the Seattle Seahawks after a successful rookie minicamp tryout. He spent training camp with the Seahawks before being waived on Sept. 5.

Seattle signed Adams to its practice squad on Oct. 15, two days after the Chiefs waived him, but then cut ties on Oct. 29, which led to his return to the Chiefs.

The make room on the 10-man practice squad, the Chiefs terminated the contract of rookie linebacker Josh Keyes, who joined the squad on Oct. 20.

Kansas City also held tryouts with wide receiver William Campbell, linebacker Ja’Gared Davis, defensive end Glenn Foster, linebacker Cameron Gordon and wide receiver Kendrick Ings.

The Chiefs are familiar with Davis, who spent a brief time on the Chiefs practice squad in 2014 before signing with Washington’s active roster. He also spent training camp with the Chiefs the past summer.
