KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Chiefs waived outside linebacker Josh Martin to make room on the roster for the signing of offensive lineman Jah Reid.

Martin suffered a concussion in the preseason finale, meaning he was designated as waived/injured. He will revert to injured reserve if he clears waivers.
The 23-year-old Martin originally joined the Chiefs in 2013 as an undrafted free agent out of Columbia.
He has appeared in 19 games with one start, totaling 14 tackles (10 solo), a ½ sack, one fumble recovery and a quarterback pressure.
The 6-3, 245-pound Martin made his mark on special teams, playing on 321 special teams to rank second on the team behind Frank Zombo’s 367. Martin totaled 10 special teams tackles in 2014 and three in 2013.
The departure of Martin leaves the Chiefs with eight linebackers: Justin Houston, Tamba Hali, Derrick Johnson, Josh Mauga, Dee Ford, Frank Zombo, and rookies Ramik Wilson and D.J. Alexander.
