Kansas City won’t utilize a traditional tight end in a three-tight end set against the Arizona Cardinals.

The Chiefs list tight end Richard Gordon among the seven inactive players. Gordon signed Monday and has familiarity with the scheme having spent the offseason with the Chiefs.

Fullback Anthony Sherman has worked a little at the tight end position since Week 10 whenever the Chiefs utilized a three-tight end set. Kansas City lost tight end Demetrius Harris to a season-ending foot injury during pregame warm-ups.

The Chiefs are 7-3 when utilizing a three-tight end set, with the other two losses without the deployment of the formation coming in Week 1 and Week 13.

The remaining inactives are quarterback Aaron Murray, cornerback Jamell Fleming, center Eric Kush, offensive lineman Laurent Duvernay-Tardif, wide receiver Junior Hemingway (concussion) and defensive end Allen Bailey (concussion).

Kansas City previously ruled out Hemingway and Bailey on Friday’s injury report.

Defensive lineman Vance Walker will start in Bailey’s place, while wide receiver Jason Avant will likely be first up at the slot position in place of Hemingway.

Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald (knee) is active and makes his return after missing the last two games.
