Jeff Allen promoting Chiefs-Chargers rivalry with t-shirt design

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Chiefs guard/tackle Jeff Allen is out for the season after undergoing elbow surgery.

But that hasn’t stopped Allen’s competitive nature, especially when it comes to AFC West rivalries.

The third-year pro and San Diego Chargers defensive end Corey Liuget have partnered with Rivalry Wear, a clothing brand based on competition and pride, to represent the two cities for Sunday’s matchup, according to a news release from Brian Bradtke of B2 Enterprises, a sports marketing and public relations firm representing Allen.

Allen and Liguet co-designed shirts to reflect the Chiefs-Chargers rivalry, according to the news release.

For his part, Allen on Thursday tweeted information and photos of the design:

The two players offer a unique partnership, as Allen and Liuget were college teammates and roommates at the University of Illinois.

“I’m looking forward to starting this collaboration with Rivalry Wear,” Allen said in a statement through B2 Enterprises, “and competing off the field against my longtime friend, Corey. It will be fun to see whose city and fans support our designs more. I know KC will show its true colors!”

The shirt designs are available for purchase for a limited time through RivalryWear.com or by clicking here to go directly to the specific rivalry site.

“For every person who buys the shirt,” Braddtke said in an email, “the price drops for everyone. The more you share, the more you save. Winning the deal means beating your rival and having bragging rights against the other city, team, and player.”

Allen also tweeted a photo of himself wearing the design to offer a view of the how it looks on a shirt:

It’s Rivalry Week! Help us beat SD off the field too. Support my KC design on @RivalryWear. https://t.co/RBXqZkzlni pic.twitter.com/E4GAldbSU1 — Jeff Allen (@JeffAllen71) October 17, 2014
