Chiefs sign FB Jordan Campbell, TE Justin Jones to practice squad

Chiefs sign FB Jordan Campbell, TE Justin Jones to practice squad

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Chiefs tweaked the practice squad Tuesday and brought back a familiar name.

The Chiefs signed fullback Jordan Campbell, who spent the entire offseason and training camp with the Chiefs, and tight end Justin Jones.

The 5-11, 240-pound Campbell began the regular season on the Chiefs practice squad. The Chiefs first released Campbell on Aug. 30 as part of the roster trimmings to reach the 53-man roster before signing him to the practice squad on Aug. 31. The Chiefs then released Campbell on Sept. 9 before Tuesday’s signing.

The 6-8, 275-pound Jones entered the league in May as an undrafted free agent out of Eastern Carolina with the New England Patriots. He spent training camp with the Patriots.

The Chiefs released tight end Adam Schiltz and cornerback Robert Steeples from the practice squad to make room for Campbell and Jones.

Schiltz, who played collegiately at Emporia State, spent training camp with the Chiefs. He and Steeples were signed to the practice squad on Sept. 9.
