KANSAS CITY, Mo. – A fan favorite returns to the Chiefs less than 24 hours after being waived.

Wide receiver Fred Williams signed with the Chiefs practice squad, a source familiar with the transaction confirmed Sunday afternoon with ChiefsDigest.com.
The 6-0, 190-pound Williams emerged during training camp and led the Chiefs with 15 catches for 167 yards and three touchdowns in four preseason games.
Williams originally joined the Chiefs practice squad late in the 2013 season, and then spent the 2014 season on the practice squad.
Meanwhile, rookie wide receiver Da’Ron Brown is signing with the practice squad, a source familiar with the transaction confirmed Sunday.
The Chiefs originally selected the 6-0, 199-pound Brown in the seventh round of the 2015 NFL Draft. He finished the preseason with seven catches for 67 yards and a touchdown.
Defensive tackle Hebron Fangupo also signed with the practice squad, according to a source. The 6-0, 324-pound Fangupo returns for a second stint on the practice squad after spending time there in 2014. He finished the preseason with four solo tackles.
The Chiefs also signed rookie defensive end David Irving and rookie offensive lineman Daniel Munyer to the practice squad, sources informed ChiefsDigest.com. Irving, who measures 6-7, 272 pounds, is an intriguing prospect to develop, while the 6-1, 305-pound Munyer offers versatility at guard and center.
The sources spoke on the condition of anonymity because the Chiefs have not announced the transactions.
