WR Albert Wilson questionable for Wild Card game against Titans

WR Albert Wilson questionable for Wild Card game against Titans

Matt Derrick January 4, 2018

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Chiefs face the prospect of opening the NFL playoffs without two essential role players on the sideline and their depth challenged at wide receiver and along the defensive line.

The team listed defensive lineman Rakeem Nunez-Roches as doubtful with a sprained ankle and wide receiver Albert Wilson questionable with a hamstring injury. The loss of Wilson would severely tests the team’s wide receiver group, which already is without De’Anthony Thomas, whom the team placed on injured reserve earlier this week.

Without Wilson, the Chiefs would likely thrust rookie Jehu Chesson in to the team’s No. 3 spot with Marcus Kemp fresh from the practice squad as the team’s No. 4 receiver.

The team tagged defensive lineman Jarvis Jenkins as questionable with a knee issue, which paired with Nunez-Roches quickly shrinks the defensive line rotation. The team signed veteran 3-4 defensive tackle Stefan Charles this week as insurance for injuries to Nunez-Roches and Jenkins.

The Chiefs seem relatively healthy outside those two positions.  The only other starting appearing on the injury reports is left tackle Eric Fisher, who practiced all week in full despite a back issue.

The Titans, however, will be without running back DeMarco Murray, who suffered a sprained MCL in Week 16 against the Los Angeles Rams and sat out the team’s season finale against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The club also listed starting left guard Quinton Spain questionable with a back issue.

Starting defensive back Logan Ryan missed time with an illness this week but expects to play Saturday.
