Wild Card Weekend: Wednesday injury report

Wild Card Weekend: Wednesday injury report

Herbie Teope January 1, 2014

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Chiefs list seven players on the initial injury report for Saturday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts.

Headlining the report as not practicing are starting outside linebacker Tamba Hali (knee) and starting right tackle Eric Fisher (groin, shoulder).

Hali missed the regular season finale with his injury, while Fisher suffered a groin strain during Tuesday’s practice where he was unable to finish.

During the portion of Wednesday’s practice open to media, Hali was observed participating in some of the warmups without his helmet.

Fisher was observed standing on the sidelines without his helmet.

If Fisher is unavailable for the first round of the playoffs, second-year offensive lineman Donald Stephenson should draw the start in Fisher’s place.

Meanwhile, the Chiefs will have wide receiver Dwayne Bowe in the lineup.

Bowe, who practiced fully Wednesday, missed the final regular season game with a concussion. He was medically cleared to practice Tuesday, and then cleared to play Wednesday.

“I’m fine,” Bowe told reporters during Wednesday’s media session. “I’ve had a good time to rest and recover to be fresh for this game.”

Along with Bowe, the Chiefs list left tackle Branden Albert (knee), linebacker Justin Houston (elbow), center Eric Kush (ankle) and cornerback CB Ron Parker (finger, ankle) as full participants in Wednesday’s practice.

The Colts list 12 players on their initial injury report, with defensive linemen Aubrayo Franklin (knee) and Fili Moala (knee) as not practicing, and wide receiver Darius Heyward-Bey (hamstring) as limited.

All other Indianapolis players listed on the report practiced fully.
