Week 9: Wednesday injury report

Herbie Teope October 30, 2013

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Chiefs list 11 players on the initial injury report for Sunday’s game against the Buffalo Bills.

Headlining the list as not practicing is running back Jamaal Charles (knee), but coach Andy Reid indicated during Wednesday’s media session that Charles should be fine.

“We’re going to let the thing settle down,” Reid said of Charles’ knee. “I think he will be alright.”

Ruled out of practice the rest of the week is defensive lineman Mike Catapano, who has a high ankle sprain.

“The chances of him making it this week are pretty slim,” Reid said.

Meanwhile, the Chiefs list tight end Anthony Fasano (ankle, knee) and reserve cornerback Ron Parker (toe) as limited. This should be the norm for Fasano, who recently returned from his injuries.

Listed as full participants in Wednesday’s practice are wide receiver Donnie Avery (shoulder), wide receiver Dwayne Bowe (groin), right tackle Eric Fisher (knee, back), safety Kendrick Lewis (ankle), tight end Sean McGrath (knee), linebacker Dezman Moses (toe) and fullback Anthony Sherman (knee, calf).

Notable Buffalo Bills players not practicing Wednesday are quarterback Thad Lewis (ribs), running back Fred Jackson (knee) and wide receiver Stevie Johnson (hip).

Bills quarterback E.J. Manuel (knee) appears as limited, but coach Doug Marrone said during Wednesday’s media conference call Manuel would not be returning this week.
