Week 8: Wednesday injury report

Week 8: Wednesday injury report

Herbie Teope October 28, 2015

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Chiefs began preparations to play the Detroit Lions in London with a key player on offense back on the field.

Wide receiver Jeremy Maclin, who missed Week 7 recovering from a concussion, put in a full practice Wednesday afternoon.

“He says he feels good,” coach Andy Reid said after the morning walkthrough. “Right now no symptoms, so right now he’s doing well.”

Maclin originally suffered the concussion in Week 6 against the Minnesota Vikings

The Chiefs, however, didn’t have defensive end Mike DeVito (concussion), left guard Ben Grubbs (neck), rookie inside linebacker Ramik Wilson (sprain) and outside linebacker Tamba Hali (knee).

DeVito sustained his concussion in Week 6 and did not play in Week 7.

Wilson suffered a knee and high-ankle injury after getting rolled up on in Week 6 and missed Week 7.

“The knee is doing pretty good,” Reid said of Wilson. “The high ankle, we’re still working on.”

The Chiefs have taken it easy on Hali in recent weeks as he deals with swelling in the knee, while Grubbs is dealing with a stiff neck.

Reid didn’t appear overly concerned with the four players missing practice.

“They’re all day-to-day,” Reid said. “We’ll see how things work there.”

Running back Charcandrick West showed up on injury report with a pectoral injury, but the Chiefs list him as a full participant in practice.

The Chiefs also list tight end Travis Kelce (groin), linebacker Josh Mauga (groin, Achilles), defensive tackle Dontari Poe (ankle) and quarterback Alex Smith (thumb) as full participants.

The Lions list eight players on the injury report.

Quarterback Matthew Stafford (quad) and running back Joique Bell (ankle) are listed as full participant, while wide receiver Calvin Johnson did not practice with a “not injury related” designation.

Wednesday’s injury report as released by the Chiefs:
