KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Kansas City Chiefs list five players, including four starters, as not practicing on Wednesday’s official NFL Injury Report.
Leading the group is Flowers, who entered Week Three as questionable. He apparently aggravated a knee injury during Week Three’s Thursday night win against the Eagles and Chiefs coach Andy Reid on Monday categorized Flowers’ status as day-to-day.
Reid said during his Wednesday media session that Flowers is “getting better,” adding “most of the swelling is out of his knee.”
Meanwhile, also not practicing are starting guard Jeff Allen (groin), safety Kendrick Lewis (ankle) and tight ends Anthony Fasano (ankle) and Travis Kelce (knee).
Allen suffered his injury against the Eagles and did not finish the contest. Reserve offensive lineman Geoff Schwartz finished in Allen’s place.
Fasano (ankle/knee) and Kelce (knee) were inactive in Week Three, leaving the Chiefs with Sean McGrath and Kevin Brock at the position.
Both figure to once again play a large role on offense if Fasano or Kelce can’t go on Sunday against the New York Giants.
Listed as limited participants are left tackle Branden Albert (shoulder) and defensive lineman Mike Devito (neck).
The Chiefs list fullback Anthony Sherman (knee) and Frank Zombo (elbow) as full participants.
New York has 10 players on the initial report.
