Week 4: Friday injury report

Matt Derrick September 30, 2016

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Starting linebacker Tamba Hali and cornerback Phillip Games are questionable for the Chiefs as they prepare to travel to Pittsburgh for a Sunday night showdown against the Steelers, but coach Andy Reid remained optimistic both may play this weekend.

“They’re day-to-day, we’ll see how all that sorts out as we go here,” Reid said.

Cornerback Marcus Peters, who missed the last two days of practice with an illness, returned to full practice and expects to start Sunday night.

Reid also included running back Jamaal Charles, also listed as questionable, as day-to-day. Charles continued working with both the team and scout teams in practice this week.

“He looks like he’s getting better all the time,” Reid said. “We’ll just have to see how he does here today.”

The Chiefs plan to lineup Sunday without running back Charcandrick West (ankle) and offensive lineman Jah Reid (knee/ankle). The team listed both players as out for the Steelers game.

Starting right guard Laurent Duvernay-Tardif practiced fully this week, making him the likely start on Sunday after missing the last two games. Rookie Parker Ehinger returned to practice this week after sustaining both a concussion and a foot injury. Zach Fulton started each of the last two games, one at each guard position.

“We kind of rotated all of them in,” Reid said. “We’ll just see how thing work after today’s practice, how things go.”

Ehinger practiced in limited fashion this week, making Zach Fulton the likely starter at left guard.
