Week 2: Wednesday injury report

Herbie Teope September 10, 2014

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Chiefs list 12 players on the initial injury report ahead of Sunday’s road contest in Denver against the Broncos.

Right tackle Jeff Allen (elbow) and rookie running back De’Anthony Thomas (hamstring) did not practice.

Allen suffered his injury during Week 1’s loss against the Tennessee Titans, while Thomas suffered his injury late on the first day of Week 1’s game week practice.

Thomas missed the final two days of practice and did not play in Week 1, but coach Andy Reid indicated progress.

“He’s getting better,” Reid said Wednesday.

The Chiefs have Ryan Harris listed second on the depth chart at right tackle in the event Allen is unavailable Sunday.

Meanwhile, the Chiefs list outside linebacker Tamba Hali (ankle/knee) as a limited participant. Hali tweaked his ankle during Week 1’s game.

The Chiefs list free safety Husain Abdullah (quad), strong safety Eric Berry (quad), wide receiver Dwayne Bowe (quad), cornerback Marcus Cooper (ankle), wide receiver Frankie Hammond Jr. (shoulder), wide receiver Junior Hemingway (hip), center Eric Kush (shoulder), outside linebacker Josh Martin (quad) and wide receiver Albert Wilson (ankle) as full participants.

Bowe dealt with a finger injury during training camp, but Reid wasn’t concerned.

“He’s doing good now,” the head coach said. “He’s back and ready to roll.”

The Broncos list nine total players, with three as not practicing and six as full participants. The latter group includes defensive end DeMarcus Ware (thigh).
