KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Chiefs outside linebackers Tamba Hali (thumb, knee) and Justin Houston (knee) are among six players not practicing Wednesday ahead of Sunday’s game against the Oakland Raiders.

“Still making progress in the right direction,” coach Andy Reid said of Hali and Houston.

Hali did not play in Week 16 after undergoing surgery on his right thumb early last week, while Houston has missed four straight games since suffering a hyperextended knee in Week 12.

Safety Husain Abduallh, who did not practice as he continues to recover from a concussion sustained on Dec. 3, is “getting closer,” Reid said.

Right tackle Jah Reid is dealing with knee inflammation, while defensive end Mike DeVito and wide receiver De’Anthony Thomas missed practice with a “not injury related” designation.

Thomas was inactive in Week 16 with what the head coach called “personal issues” after the game, and Wednesday brought no update.

“I don’t have anything for you on De’Anthony yet,” Reid said. “When we get something, I’ll be able to fill you in on it. And (general manager John) Dorse(y) is kind of handling that part of it.”

The Chiefs list guard Jeff Allen (ankle), linebacker Dee Ford (knee), tight end Travis Kelce (groin), running back Spencer Ware (rib) and wide receiver Albert Wilson (shin) as full participants in Wednesday’s practice.

Oakland lists four player on the initial injury report, including rookie wide receiver Amari Cooper (foot) and defensive end Khalil Mack (knee) as limited participants.
