KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Chiefs wide receiver Dwayne Bowe (shoulder) was among three starters not practicing Wednesday ahead of Sunday’s game against the San Diego Chargers.
Joining Bowe as not working out are outside linebacker Tamba Hali (knee) and guard Zach Fulton (foot, toe).
Bowe suffered his shoulder injury in Week 16, but the Chiefs are hopeful he’ll play in Sunday’s season finale.
“I think he will,” coach Andy Reid told reporters Tuesday. “I just know his makeup, he hates to miss anything.”
The Chiefs conducted Wednesday’s practice indoors on turf, so Hali sitting out may have been for precautionary purposes.
Fulton suffered his injury in Week 16 and Reid is also optimistic the rookie guard will be available for Sunday’s game.
“I think he is going to be able to go when it is all said and done,” Reid told reporters Tuesday.
The Chiefs list running back Jamaal Charles (hamstring, ankle), tight end Anthony Fasano (knee), rookie cornerback Phillip Gaines (illness) and inside linebacker Joe Mays (knee) as limited participants.
Linebacker Josh Martin (hand) practiced fully.
The Chargers list seven players on the initial report, including four not practicing.
Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers (chest, back) put in a full practice, but San Diego could be without wide receiver Keenan Allen (ankle, shoulder) for Sunday’s game.
The Chiefs and Chargers are off Christmas Day before the teams return to practice Friday.
