KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Chiefs safety Husain Abdullah returned to a practice, albeit it in a limited fashion, Thursday for the first time since suffering a concussion Dec. 3.

Abdullah has missed four straight games, but his presence on the field offers a good sign he could be on track to return potentially for Sunday’s game against the Oakland Raiders.

Outside linebacker Tamba Hali (thumb, knee), outside linebacker Justin Houston (knee), and right tackle Jah Reid (knee) missed a second straight day of practice.

Reid, however, was observed on the sidelines watching his teammates go through stretching during the portion of practice open to the media.

The Chiefs list guard Jeff Allen (ankle), outside linebacker Dee Ford (knee), tight end Travis Kelce (groin), running back Spencer Ware (rib) and wide receiver Albert Wilson (shin) as practicing fully for a consecutive day.

Wide receiver De’Anthony Thomas’ season is over after the Chiefs placed the second-year pro on the reserve/non-football illness list. Thomas suffered a concussion in Week 11 and missed the next four games. He was inactive in Week 16 with what the team called a “personal issue” and did not practice Wednesday.

Defensive end Mike DeVito, who missed Wednesday’s practice with a “not injury related” designation, returned to the field Thursday.

The Raiders tweaked their report Thursday, adding cornerback D.J. Hayden, who did not practice with an ankle injury.
