KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Chiefs are without quarterback Alex Smith (spleen) and rookie cornerback Phillip Gaines (illness) for Sunday’s game against the San Diego Chargers.
But the team should have wide receiver Dwayne Bowe, who returned to practice Friday albeit in a limited fashion. Bowe missed Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s workouts, while Thursday’s practice report was a projection based on the team having Christmas Day off.
The Chiefs list running back Jamaal Charles (hamstring, ankle) as questionable. Charles was limited in practice the entire week.
Rookie guard Zach Fulton (foot, toe) is also listed as questionable after he returned to a limited practice Friday.
The Chiefs list tight end Anthony Fasano (knee) and linebackers Tamba Hali (knee), Josh Martin (hand) and Joe Mays (knee) as probable.
San Diego lists running back Ryan Mathews (ankle) as out and wide receiver Keenan Allen (ankle, shoulder) as questionable.
