Week 16: Thursday injury report

Herbie Teope December 18, 2014

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Chiefs practiced indoors Thursday after Kansas City received its first snowfall of the year Wednesday night.

But the Chiefs are still down wide receiver Dwayne Bowe and defensive end Jaye Howard, both whom missed a second straight day of practice with the flu.

The Chiefs also list outside linebacker Tamba Hali (knee) as not practicing. Hali practiced on a limited basis Wednesday.

Tight end Anthony Fasano (knee), who did not practice Wednesday, put in a limited practice along with linebacker Joe Mays (knee).

Running back Jamaal Charles (knee, ankle) returned to a full practice after being limited the previous day. Charles is on track as a full-go for Sunday’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers barring a setback.

The Chiefs should have defensive end Allen Bailey (concussion) and rookie cornerback Phillip Gaines (concussion) available Sunday, as both put in a full practice for a second straight day after.

Guard Zach Fulton (toe), linebacker Josh Mauga (oblique), cornerback Chris Owens (knee) and cornerback Sean Smith (groin) also practiced fully Thursday.

The Steelers added wide receiver Marcus Wheaton to the injury report with an illness. Wheaton did not practice Thursday.

Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger (not injury related) returned to a full practice after sitting out Wednesday.

Thursday’s official NFL Injury Report as released by the Chiefs:
