KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Chiefs wide receiver Dwayne Bowe missed a third straight day of practice while battling the flu.

“He’s taken in some fluids and trying to maintain keeping those fluids in,” coach Andy Reid told reporters Friday. “We’ll just see how he does. He is making improvement.”

Reid appeared optimistic Bowe, who is officially listed as questionable, would be available for Sunday’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

“I think he’s going to be ready,” Reid said.

Outside linebacker Tamba Hali (knee, questionable) also didn’t practice Friday, but Reid indicated it was precautionary considering the Chiefs practiced indoors and not on natural grass. The head coach didn’t appear concerned on Hali’s availability for Sunday.

“We rested him off the turf,” Reid said. “He’ll be ready to go.”

The Chiefs list 10 players as probable, notables including running back Jamaal Charles (ankle, knee), defensive end Allen Bailey (concussion) and rookie cornerback Phillip Gaines (concussion).

Bailey and Gaines are set to return to action after missing Week 15. Bailey, in particular, hasn’t played since sustaining his concussion in Week 13.

The Steelers list safety Troy Polamalu (knee) and cornerback Ike Taylor (shoulder, forearm) as doubtful.
