Week 14: Friday injury report

Week 14: Friday injury report

Herbie Teope December 11, 2015

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The San Diego Chargers won’t have to worry about Chiefs outside linebacker Justin Houston (knee) in Sunday’s game at Arrowhead Stadium.

The Chiefs ruled Houston as out, marking the second straight game the All-Pro linebacker will miss after he suffered a hyperextended knee in Week 12. Second-year pro Dee Ford should draw the start in Houston’s place for another week.

The Chiefs also ruled out a trio of players recovering from concussions: Safety Husain Abdullah, defensive end Mike DeVito and wide receiver De’Anthony Thomas.

Defensive end Allen Bailey (calf, probable) practiced in full the entire week and his anticipated return after missing four straight games softens the blow for a defensive line without DeVito.

Thomas hasn’t played since suffering his concussion in Week 11. The Chiefs are likely to continue using running back Knile Davis as the kickoff returner, while wide receiver Frankie Hammond Jr., should handle punt returns with Thomas out.

Guard Jeff Allen (questionable) after putting in a limited practice for a third straight day.

The Chiefs list rookie center Mitch Morse (concussion), linebacker Tamba Hali (knee), punter Dustin Colquitt (right knee) and tight end Travis Kelce (groin) as probable.

Morse should be back in the starting lineup after not playing in Week 13.

The Chargers list four players as out, including cornerback Brandon Flowers (knee).
