Week 12: Wednesday injury report

Herbie Teope November 20, 2013

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Chiefs list nine players on the initial NFL Injury Report for Sunday’s game against the San Diego Chargers.

Not practicing are three starters coming off injuries suffered in Week 11: Defensive ends Mike DeVito (knee) and Tyson Jackson (abdomen), along with right tackle Eric Fisher (shoulder).

Chiefs coach Andy Reid said during Wednesday’s media session the three players were “day-to-day.”

Should either DeVito or Jackson not be available for Sunday, the Chiefs could turn to recently signed defensive tackle Kyle Love, whom the team signed Tuesday after releasing defensive lineman Anthony Toribio.

“There’s a chance that he could work in,” Reid said of Love. “We have to see how he does in practice and then talk with the defensive guys, but right now I’ll tell you he has playing experience, which helps, in games.”

Also coming off a Week 11 injury is starting guard Jon Asamoah (shoulder). However, Asamoah was able to participate in practice, albeit in a limited fashion.

The Chiefs list defensive lineman Mike Catapano (ankle), defensive back Sanders Commings (shoulder), tight end Anthony Fasano (knee, ankle), linebacker Derrick Johnson (wrist) and fullback Anthony Sherman (knee) as full participants.

Meanwhile, the Chargers list 11 players on their initial report.

Notables include starting center Nick Hardwick (neck), starting running back Ryan Mathews (hamstring) and starting linebacker Manti Te’o (elbow).
