KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Chiefs began preparations for Sunday’s game against the San Diego Chargers without four starters.
Starting left guard Ben Grubbs (neck), defensive end Allen Bailey (calf), linebacker Tamba Hali (knee) and cornerback Sean Smith (knee) did not practice Wednesday.
Grubbs, in particular, has already been ruled out for Week 11’s game.
The Chiefs continue to take it easy on Hali during the part of practice much in the same fashion from past weeks.
“Just keeping kind of the same schedule he’s had here,” coach Andy Reid said after the morning walkthrough.
The Chiefs had good news on safety Tyvon Branch, who suffered a foot injury in Week 10.
Branch practiced Wednesday in a limited fashion, as did rookie linebacker Ramik Wilson, who is still dealing with an ankle injury from Week 6.
Tight end Travis Kelce (groin) put in a full practice.
The Chargers list 12 players on their initial report, which includes tight end Antonio Gates, who was limited with a knee injury.
